Haliotis australis, known by the common names queen pāua, yellowfoot pāua, silver pāua, or austral abalone, is a species of marine gastropod mollusk found in Aotearoa-New Zealand. They are edible, and often fished recreationally. Like all pāua, they are of cultural significance to the Māori, who know it by a number of names including hauwai, hihiwa, karahiwa, karariwha and korohiwa. Yellowfoot paua are harvested commercially, although not to the same extent as the blackfoot abalone.

Description The size of the shell varies between 40 mm and 100 mm. "The thin, oval shell is quite convex. The distance of the apex from margin measures one-eighth to one-ninth the length of the shell. The sculpture consists of faint spirals and a close strong radiating corrugation. The 6 to 8 perforations are circular with elevated edges.
